Mäntän Vuorentorni Observation Tower
Mäntän Vuorentorni observation tower was completed in 2005 according to the plans created by W.G. Palmqvist. It has 94 log layers and 13.5 metres to the observation deck. The observation deck is located 200 metres above sea level. The highest point of Mäntänvuori Hill is 190 metres. From the tower you can have a great view towards the Art Town Mänttä-Vilppula and surrounding area, for example Lake Keurusselkä.
Mäntänvuori recreational area is a nature reserve and recreational area, which is located only two kilometres away from the Mänttä town centre. In Mäntänvuori recreational area there are also sports trail with lighting and other nature trails, one of them is an accessible path. In Mäntänvuori You find also Vuorenmaja Wine Tavern, Viinitupa Vuorenmaja, and a “Hill Church”, which is small nature chapel. Lydia Wideman’s steps (218 steps) are leading You to the Mäntänvuori Hill. The starting place of the routes and parking area is the Mäntänvuori sports field, Urheilukentäntie, Mänttä. The starting point of the accessible path is next to Vuorenmaja Wine Tavern, Vuorentie 70. You can also achieve observation tower from that point.
